I am due for an upgrade on my BlackBerry contract, and I have been using a BB for six years. I am quite happy to stick with it because it is reliable, but I can't help but notice everyone else's ice-cream bowls look like they have bigger portions of ice-cream and lots more chocolate sprinkles... I am very tempted to go for an ANDROID handset or maybe even an iPhone.

There is some skepticism in going ANDROID or iPhone because we don't get the unlimited "free" browsing which has become a part of my life - can anyone tell me from their experience whether they have used multiple handset OSes from the "big guys" and which they preferred? I know it's a bit of an open-ended question but I am hoping I can get some insight here.

BlackBerry is great because of the free internet, but TBH the current crop of handsets lack a lot of the specifications that iPhone has and the market-leading Android phones (they're growing all the time too).

Any suggestions? BB vs. Android vs. iPhone vs. MS ...?

Oh yes, and any suggestions on which Network to use would also be appreciated :) I'm on VODACOM at the moment and suspect they're the most helpful with BB since they started the movement...

I would suggest an iPhone if you can get your hands on one. I'm a huge android fan, but recently got myself an iPad - after being pleasantly suprised by it's usability, I got myself an iPhone. I have not looked back.

Both android and iOS are great operating systems, but the thing that sells me on the iPhone is it's simplicity.

I'm on an HTC at the moment, also due for an upgrade soon and am seriously considering one of the new BB's (Torch or 9900). They heave decent specs (hardware) and BIS is a big plus.

Other option I'm looking at is HTC Desire Z (qwerty keyboard a big bonus for me).

which has the best qwerty keyboard..........currently using x1..
a bit dissapointed .....
