Samsung.
In OPs case between the LG and the Samsung one is 4K and one isn't so that's pretty much a easy choice to future proof.
I see.
But then the age old question, when will 4k start to be a thing?
Doesn't matter, cause when it is, you'll be ready.
If you use a UHD blu-ray player to still watch anything then no but I haven't watch a DVD let alone a Blu-Ray disc in prolly 6 years already. All new Netflix shows are comming out in 4k and there's already a few music videos and live videos on Youtube that's 4k. Also the TV will have x265 he-aac so great quality at incredibly small size. No need to transcode anything. Is the current crop of UHD TV's up for the challenge though?
I have heard they were all made before the standard was confirmed. They can do the resolution but nothing else that is meant to come with UHD.
4k was only standardised earlier this year. Check to see if the Samsung meets thatI see.
