hello

been a while. happy new year.
left res and need a place to stay. JHB North preferably as I start working in Randburg come Feb

2 places at the moment

2 bedroom in the CBD  for 4.5k. Wodden floors, high ceielings. close to taxi's as I don''t have a car.
Problems apparently (friend lives in building) are that it is loud because of the taxi hootings, building has a cockaroach problem sometimes.

1 bedroom in NorthRiding for 5.7k. Modern feel. In Jackal Golf Estate so might be a bit larny?

Places are about equal in size ie. 57-63sqm.

Help me.

Personally, since you just starting work I would go for option 1.

You have no idea how much that extra R 1.2k will come in handy ;)

If Option 1's building is safe and has good security then Take it! A specially because you do not have a car yet.
I live in Capetown CBD for 4 months and I am considering buying a place here in the CBD now.

Try out the cheaper place in the CBD. Is it close to your work? can you walk there? Traffic in Northriding is horrendous. It never hurts to save some money.

Not first job. Just cheap :p

Not closer. Just convinent transport wise

Jackal Creek is nice (I own an apartment there that I rent out, and can vouch for the comfortable living in the more expensive apartments), but it's a bit far from from Randburg CBD, especially if you don't have a car.

Living in the CBD is cheap and convenient, but expect it to be noisy and dirty, with less than ideal neighbours.

Noisy being the biggest issue :\
No kids though so might work unless

special myBB discount on your place ;)

There are loads of new/newish built bachelor / 1bed / 2bed apartments in Randburg. Corner Oak and Dover Roads, Ferndale two new developments within budget - and not too noisy and close to centre.
