Hi all
A couple week's ago I reversed into a car parked outside my opposite neighbour's house, was in a rush and just didnt see his car parked in the street. He drives a 1991 Audi 500 SE. All that was damaged was his front right indicator lens and fog light, and the fender just needs to be straightened out. We decided (stupidly I know) to keep the insurance out of it, thinking that it wont cost much to fix his car up, and mine only has a few scratches on the bumper that can be buffed out.
Anyways, fast forward to last week, and he's only managed to get 2 quotes to repair and replace what is needed. The quotes dont only seem ridiculous (R4500 and R9600), but neither place can guarantee that they will even find the replacement parts for his car. We then both decided to phone around and try to get hold of the lights, from scrapyards to agents, and had no luck. Also its too late to go and report this to the cops to get a case number for insurance to handle.
Does anybody know of a place that might be able to supply? Even if it means I have to have it couriered to Cape Town, I wont mind, just want to get this thing sorted, its dragged on long enough.
Alternatively, and I dont know if this is even possible, but is it possible for a glass or plastics manufacturer to make new lenses and fit them to the lights? The internals of the lights arent damaged, only the glass/plastic lenses themselves.
Any help will be much appreciate.
