Since the good folk here on MyBB have helped me in many a situation I figured they might as well help be dress :D lol.
Have a pale yellow shirt that I was planning to wear with grey (almost silver) pants with brown shoes and a brown belt.. Thoughts? Oh um..I'm black if that matters lol.

But yeah, what do you guys think?

Yellow shirt, grey pants, brown shoes and brown belt?

Without pics, my immediate reaction is NO WAY. Yellow, brown and silver?

What about black pants or a long black skirt instead? I'm not a fan of yellow clothing, but you could work it if you keep the brown shoes and belt out of it :p

Pics would help :o

Wear that shirt with black pants, then you can probably do the brown belt, but try to wear black shoes if you can. If you can't then the brown shoes should be okay as that colour yellow should go fine with brown.

You can wear the yellow shirt + grey pants, but then wear a black belt and black shoes. Brown does not fit into that equation.

Hmm...is the brown really that shocking guys? It's as pale as it looks in the pics..almost white kinda. Wont black clash with the grey ?:o Still finding my feet with the formal look..

No tie?

That shirt looks more beige to me than yellow.

Black pants would go very nicely with that shirt, methinks. Brown shoes and belt wouldn't look bad, but I'd prefer black.

The grey pants are a definitive no-no though :D

Brown you can pair with brown pants / white shirt and a grey pull over or something.

With the grey pants and yellow shirt, the black will add a nice contrast. You can wear black with anything. Hmm depends how formal you want to go but generally wearing a nice pants / shirt is adequate enough.

just thought a differant colour would make the outfit "POP" lol..thus the grey pants and brown tie and shoes.
What about a red shirt?

In what world can you wear a brown belt with black shoes? KILLING ME!!

Agree 100% with Nicci. Will look very stylish. You can try wearing the navy pants with yellow shirt, brown belt and brown shoes too. Whatever you do, make sure your shoes and belt match! They don't have to be the exact same shade, but similar colour is essential. You could also try yellow shirt, black pants, brown belt and brown shoes but chances are it won't look that great (would work better than the silver pants and brown shoes/belt combo though!!) And for what it's worth, yellow is a colour that works well on black guys in my opinion, particularly if you've got more of a light chocolate complexion.

Brown tie? No, no... Just wear the shirt as is.

Red would work too, although then definitely keep brown attire out of the equation :p

Oh no, not a red shirt lol!! That is so yesteryear. Keep it toned down - red is definately not formal. If you plan to go to a flamenco contest then by all means wear it :)
