First of all thanks for contributing.
So far this version has been in the most similar style to the one I am looking for. Some nice tunes at that link.

Song still unfound.
 
Meh. Don't like it, but kudos to Nic for the track in any case. Needs a lot of work - the bass is all wrong and it's mastered quite poorly imo. The rhythm of the bassline doesn't quite suite the vocals either...

A friend of mine asked me if I can recall the name of a song by Seether, where the start of the chorus goes like this: 'Heeeyy!'

It's like having to hum Robert Miles's "Children", except that one I was looking for for years.
