Finally about to buy my gaming PC will be ordering it in the morning :) !!!

just need some final advice, suggestions and help choosing.(want to make sure before i buy her)

System
CPU-i5 2500k
cpu cooler-Coolermaster v6 GT or v8 or Thermalright Venomous X Silent
Motherboard-Maximus IV Gene-Z or P8Z68-V PRO
PSU- coolermaster extreme power plus 700w or coolermaster GX 650W or the corsair cx 600
Ram-4 GB Corsair vengence
GPU-
Chassis-GMC H-80 or Coolermaster Storm Enforcer or NZXT Phantom Black with Green Stipes
HDD-1TB-7200RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3 (Seagate)


No graphics card cause i intend to use the chip's graphics for a month or two at the most till i can get the graphics card im thinking the 6950 or 70 if i can afford it. or is this unwise?

Will the desired cards fit well with the case?

I also plan on upgrading the ram with another 4GB ram and a new WD hdd at that point and then by march i will buy a ssd and still want it a possibility to add more ram and a 2nd graphics card will the mobo and psu combo still cope if i do fully upgrade as said.

Will the cards and CPU cooler physically fit, will also probably get a sound card though not sure if it will be necessary.

Besides a DVD-RW what else will i be needing (in the tower) and is this setup optimal?
 
Stay away from the Coolermaster PSU's.
Seeing that you have a decent budget, go for a decent PSU too - like the Corsair TX650v2.

It is pointless to buy a SATA III (6Gbps) HDD when the hard drive can't even saturate SATA II (3Gbps). The Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB drive is a good HDD, with like 5yr warranty and going for under R600.

If you're not going to do lots of video transcoding, then just stick with the P67 chipset motherboards. You also don't need to get such an expensive motherboard, unless you're considering to go for a SLI/CrossFire setup, in which case I'll recommend that you go for a 700W PSU at the very least - eg. Corsair TX750v2.
For a single GPU setup, I'll recommend the MSI P67A-C43 motherboard. Seeing that you want to go for a SLI/CrossFire setup, I would recommend that you look at the MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard instead.

I would most definitely recommend the NZXT Phantom case above the other two cases since you're considering a dual graphics card setup.

As for the graphics cards, look for like a Gigabyte/Asus GTX560Ti in the region of R2200. They will really perform well in SLI. If you're going for a single GPU setup, then go for at least the GTX570/HD6970 - but be sure to query for special prices here on myBB.

The 3GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600MHz C8 1.5V memory modules are rather expensive. Just make sure that you buy DDR3 memory modules that are designed for 1.5V (up to 1.575V). Rather go for something like the following: ADATA 1600MHz DDR3 2x 4GB XPG™ Gaming Series DDR3 1600MHz C9 1.55-175V@ R633.82

The CPU coolers that you suggested will do just fine, but you might want to look at something like the Antec Kuhler 620 too, which is a closed loop (sealed) water cooling system for the CPU.

Biostar Z68 Chipset motherboard from landmarkPC R1064.00. I have 2500k at 4.8gh on this board for about a month now with Antec Kuhler 620.
 
If you want to use the on-board graphics for a while and you want to oc then you must get a z68 board.

I have the antec kuhler 620, cold and silent.

You should aim for 1600mhz 1.5V memory.

Don't forget to oc the igpu of the i5 2500k, its happy at 1500MHz and assign it some memory. Reviews show it to be roughly around a 5570's performance at 1500MHz.

Well iv'e now got a budget of R9000 for the tower.

my plan was to use R8000 for the tower excluding the graphics card.

but now im not sure whether to do that or just go with the p67 and get the graphics card now as well.

Anybody with suggestions for my setup and ill be getting R2000 to R3000 at the end of the year to spend on upgrading it further.

Power supply wise I'd take the 650watt GX.
 
Qwikslver: he's considering a SLI/CrossFire setup, in which case I really can't recommend that Coolermaster GX650, which is why I said the Corsair TX750v2.
 
The Antec Khuler is not quiet... hell no, sounds like a vacuum cleaner (well the 920 does). I Have had both the V6 an V8 coolers, they work well, pretty quiet but damn big and block any gaming ram you might have (extended heat dissipater's). The Antec Khuler wins hands down there for clearing up space around ram slots, and its easier to install.

I have had my CM 600W Silent M Pro for 4 years now and has not missed a beat so I will say go for it on a CM PSU. For the Ram, I just pulled out my OCZ HPC Reapers (2 X 2 gig 1600mhz) for a set of Corsair Vengeance (2 X 4 gig 1600mhz) which I got for under R800 from PC Zone. My Win7 X64 sits at about 3.8gig ram now most of the time... Dont notice any performance difference tho.

I also have a CM HAF 932 case, good quality build, plenty of fans... I rather like cooler master products.

As for graphics, ATI/AMD kicks nVidia a$$ in price / performance. Alltho I currently have an nVidia, I can not justify the price difference between the 580 and 6970. I would go 6970.

the Coolermaster Silent (M) Pro series PSU's are in a completely different league than the GX/Extreme Power Plus series, but they are also quite expensive.

If you've paid under R800 for 2x 4GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600MHz C8 1.5V, then you struck a bargain! The C9 latency Vengence modules are considerably cheaper.

I won't say that AMD beats Nvidia hands down with regards to the price/performance on mid-high end cards (HD6850 - HD6970 vs GTX460 - GTX580). You just have to look for bargains from both AMD & Nvidia brands, because they are usually pretty close.

The HD6970 or unlocked (but not overclocked) HD6950 are usually the cheaper/better option over the GTX570/580.
 
I think mine are the C9's tbh. I see no diffs in performance when compared to my OCZ which are C7 (much tighter timings). But then I'm running my 2600K at 4.2 and not really chucking hectic stuff at it. Only play Black Ops and thats full graphics @1920 X 1080 on a 24" Sammy. Need to start looking for a decent DX11 card soon tho. But my GTX 280 still runs pretty dam well. Avg 90FPs in Blops, I can peak at about 180, but prefer to cap it to prevent tearing. GTX 280 is one of the few tru 512bit cards out there still today, the 580 is only 384bit, tho it has ddr5 memory.
 
Wasn’t able to get the parts yet just as well as my build has now changed, I should be ordering it this week or at the latest Tuesday(you can’t understand my suspense)

Motherboard help: The Maximus IV Gene-Z is uATX what difference will that create over the standard ATX form? Any key features, cooling or performance reasons to favour the one over the other for my setup?

Cooler help: WC or not hmm.... anyone know what the best coolers would be considering my case and build?

WC issues: just worried about leakage, I saw somewhere that corsair guaranty that it will never happen with this model, but I’m just a bit nervous what are the chances of a problem and what would be the damage and solution?

Also what would maintenance involve after installation coolants replacement etc.

Air issues: Not sure which of the air coolers would work best with my setup? E.g. fan direction in case
Also they only come with one fan I’ve searched

Memory help: is there any real benefits between the c8 and c9 chips also will the mentioned chips fit with the specific air coolers and motherboards and what the difference between the 2 skill’s?

Psu's: would this be sufficient for my rig? Keep in mind I plan on adding graphics card (will only get it when the new cards come out [Jan\Feb. right?]Should be able to pay about R3500 for the card but we will see what they come out with first) and then a ssd card and blue ray writer (not sure on their power draw probably minuscule)

Also would I then be able to add another graphics card in sli\crossfire or would I need the HX1000w (too pricey though for now)

Will a good Thermal Paste be included with either the cooler, CPU or motherboard?

I’m also assuming I don't need to buy additional case fans or should I rather do it now.

Wow so many questions any help guys? Can’t wait for it :)

PSU: Rather get AX750, will handle just about any SLI/Crossfire setup.

RAM: Just get Corsair Vengeance.

Headphones: PC brand headphones are junk. Get minimum Sennheiser HD555. Pair with Asus Xonar Essence STX, or a cheaper Xonar with amplification.

Keyboard: No, high failure rates with those keyboards. Get Logitech Illuminated keyboard. In fact Razer generally sucks for the most part. Mamba mouse is OK (uses Logitech shape) but I would still get Logitech. Their mouse pads are about the best thing they have going for them.

Motherboard: Stick with ATX, mATX should be kept for small cases, ports often get blocked.
 
CPU - you said you are gaming right? So why the bump up to the 2600k? You're basically wasting R1000
And I think you forgot the GPU, the most important part :p
 
Well the cpu and motheroard im getting paid for me so i thought might aswell stretch for it otherwise i could of gone for a cheap graphics card now, but i think i should cope on the chip's graphics untill the new cards come out otherwise christmas time might just turn window shopping into buying time.

Depends on how much you can defer your gratification atm. The next generation GPUs on 22nm are just around the corner, if I were you, I'd wait till Q1 for AMD HD7000 and Nvidia's Kepler.
