Hi Guys.

I need help creating my first REAL website.
On a scale of 1 - 10 I will rate me a 2... Laugh if you want.

Anyway the website is (according to me) a pretty straight forward one but I don't know how to make it.
I've got 3 pages:
Home
Request a Quote
Contact Us

This is what I need help with: Request a quote

What I want this page to do is display more or less like this (formatting will be done later).

140izk5.png

The product will be in meters. It will be a fixed length and will never change.
The no required will be a box where the user will enter how many of the product he requires.
The rest must be automated.
The total (m) will be the product length x no required
The rate per product will be the same for all products and cannot be edited by the user
The total will be the Rate x Total (m)

the red cell B21 will be the total number of all products.
The light Blue C21 will be the total meters.

And obviously the Subtotal Vat and Total.

Once this form has been completed by the user it needs to create a quote automatically. If for example the user said the he does not need 0.1m and 0.2m it must be omitted and only the products that has a value should be added to the quote.

Also the quote must have a unique quote reference number.
this should be either emailed or faxed to the user. O yes I almost forgot. he must put his details in a normal form which should reflect on the quote.

This quote must then be saved somewhere where i can get it online. this will be accessed by myself or my wife for follow ups etc.

Pretty much a fully automated website where I will require minimal work to be done manually.

There are more stuff that i would like to add but this is the basic thing I need.

If you want to make recommendations please do, any help or guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Crabman,

The type of webpage you're wanting to develop requires at least basic javascript, php and MySql knowledge and would therefore recommend using Wordpress and a plugin similar to: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/price-calc/ as this will make it a lot easier for a non-developer to create such a dynamic page.

Hope this helps.
Cheers
