Help me pick a car

Huh?

A polo is the perfect weapon for what he needs.
If being stuck on the freeway, helplessly looking on while steam is rising from the engine is what he is aiming for.

I know i am being unfair to the poor Polo generalizing like that but I don't have good memories with the Polo. I guess if I had to go for a German car the Polo would be the best bet, even when the worst happens getting back on the road is cheap cheap.

I was going to say a Kia Picanto but it is small
I currently drive a VW UP and it kinda sucks to drive on the highway, hence my hunt for a new car. Gonna give the UP to the missus and get something bigger. Gonna miss the fuel efficiency though.

Have C-Class Mercs in the fam for many years, past 3 models. And really the main reason to rid them after warranty is the possible high maintenance costs should something go wrong. Otherwise they are solid, but will cost you an arm and leg otherwise.

Hidden gem honestly is the Honda Jazz. Drove one recently, and really doesn't get the cred it deserves (and will last forever)

Sweet. Didn't even think of the Jazz. Looks like a good option though.

Literally just need it to drive to work. No offroading or anything. But I absolutely loathe driving so I'm mainly looking for something that's comfy, safe, decently fuel efficient and won't break down. Space is also a complete non-issue.

A personal annoyance for me is my car is too low (a sporty type coupe) so my vision is usually blocked by the ten million SUVs and twin cabs everyone in the city seems to need. I would definitely look for something that sits a bit higher if I ever upgrade.

Honda in general does not get the credit they deserve, they know how to build cars, pity they aren't so good when it comes to selling them.

My friend is on his second Jazz now, after writing the first one off, he also has a CRV, both just keep on going.

Exactly, I drove the 1.5 Jazz sport CVT, and firm but forgiving suspension, also space ,looks... And who would know it had flappy paddles for gears behind the steering (not that I care) but it's a Jazz

I'd love to see how badly you abuse a car to **** up a vw. With the sheer number of them, especially polo's, on the road, I don't think I've ever seen one stuck on the side of the road.

That is a sweet ride. So much value at play, well in the short term at least.

For an 8yr high end luxo barge the leather doesn't look too lekker. Previous owner(s) prolly had lots of shagging sessions in there. I would be weary.
Just wipe of the seat with a Dettol lappie and you're good to go.
