Hi Forumites ,

Hoping you guys can help me get a start on getting a backup solution for my business.
The mall i am renting at has generators which have been unreliable of late hence my search begins.

51 led bulbs at 16watts running = 816 watts.
1 beverage cooler COKE fridge the half size ones often seen at till points
1 domestic fridge carrying temperature senistive items ( hence i need to this route)
1 till point with 2 thermal label printers and a Credit Card machine.
1 windows pc with monitor
1 other pc with 1 dot matrix printer and a label printer

i have no idea how many kw these things use so i dont know what size inverter is required.
i need to cover 2-4 hours max
i wont be using solar, its only for backup
i wont be feeding back to grid.
is hybrid necessary or is offgrid suitable ?

was looking at this and wondering if its suitable and if GETPOWER is legit ?

any help is appreciated

thanks

You need to 1st measure each product usage. I bought for my home a kill a watt to measure how much watts was used on my bigger appliances. From my prepaid usage, I knew I used on average 600 units per month. But what I was interested was not only the average but the spikes in use by the bigger appliances.

This will give you the minimum info that you can list here which forum members can used to determine the size of system needed.

Good luck, not a nice situation to be in. But there are more knowledgeable forum members who can point you in the correct direction.

hybrid is only needed if adding solar
only buy lithium lifep04

and like other say get the kill-a-watt first to avoid disappointment

or take a reading on prepaid meter and run all the stuff you want tyo run for x amount of time to cover the shedding you aim to plan for , take reading again that gives you a ball park for battery add 20% for losses

killa watt will give you spike or add all the watts on stickers for ball park peak to know what size inverter you need kw wise
