I VPN or proxy is the way to go if you "have" to torrent, otherwise simply use SA's very many news servers. They're actually quite decent if the content you are trying to grab is less than a month old.

99% of what i do is over usenet

but i have found on occassion lately that i get fails over different provider versions of the same file. so on occassion i resort to getting that file over torrent. so while put.io looks pretty good, the cost would not be justified for how infrequently i would use it.
