On a 10Mbps line, as far as gaming on Xbox live goes, is there an advantage switching from interleaved to fast path?

Also, on a 10Mbps line is attenuation of 20 up considered okay?

Doesn't matter. They keep changing it back to interleaved after a few days/weeks anyway. Switching to fastpath is only temporary.

EDIT: To add, I game on European servers, and the experience isn't really worse on interleaved.

Mine is on FP for about 1.8 Years now after the request.

Also about 20-30 less ping.

Its good, lower the better, mine is 53 on a 4Meg

The ping is the benefit, so I'm hoping you have less ping. I've requested twice, yet every time it reverts after a few days/weeks. Numerous others have had the same experience on here.

I've heard that setting your router to ADSL2 or something along those lines forces your line to fastpath, but lowers your speed. Any truth to this?

Truth is. We are all screwed without FTTH tbh.

If you want to shave a little off your latency google these registry fields a little, been using for years without issue. They are set at the adapter level so bear that in mind if you change adapters etc.
