I have a contract via Nashua Mobile and I have been a customer for 9 years. I am due for an upgrade (they tell me). I check their website and I see that, for a new customer on Talk 200S they will give a Nokia N73 free. I am on Talk 200S.

I contact the service provider at one of their mall shops and ask for the N73 on upgrade. A lot of communication ensues, including my having to show the mall shop staff their own web site to prove that the offer has been made to new clients. Much muttering. It is clear that there "is a problem". Today I am told that "the best we can do is R699" - that is, I must pay in R699 to get a N73 on an upgrade.

Can someone please explain to me why a 9 year customer who has always paid his bills and spent between R500 and R700 per month is treated worse than someone who walks in off the street?

Can someone please explain why I must pay for what someone else can get for free?

I know I can number port to MTN and then back again in 3 months and get the new deal but that's just silly. I am happy with Vodacom and I just want to get something that Nashua Mobile is willing to offer any Tom, Dick or Harry but not one that has been their customer for 9 years.

Can I use number portability to change service providers but stay with Vodacom?

I'd really appreciate anyone who can explain this. I'm hoping that I get a sensible explanation first before I go to hellopeter.

Same rubbish happened to my dad's upgrade. also a customer for 8 years with nashua.
They show you a list tells you what phone is free with your contract and what's the amount you have to pay..... But eventually we got a N70 with business talk for free....
