now i have a small house, 3 bedroom and a separate entrance that i want to have one in

whats the difference between these 2 and would i need a more expensive one and why would i need this :)

i have a lan switch to help with lan cables

S7 is R3300 and X20 is R4999

so the more i save the better

oh and i might wait a little for black friday but IC has been having good deals on mesh systems

The "AC" systems are limited to WiFi-5 capabilities, as I understand it.

AX systems are the future, especially considering IoT and smarthome functionality. (@Rouxenator can tell you all about it.)

By the way, you can probably still purchase AX mesh systems that are cheaper than that particular Five Grand combo.

It isn't about your connection speed, rather the speed of your wireless network... WiFi6 is also better when you have more devices on the network.

Do you like buffering and/or waiting for things to load?

If you're going to spend the money, and the price difference isn't massive I'd say future proof your environment as much as you can.

I got a Mesh system nearly 10 years ago and its still running flawlessy but it doesn't support the newer standards so maxes out way before my fibre link does.

Bear in mind the WiFi6 is useless unless the clients are also WiFi 6....

As someone with both a WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 network I wouldn't spend the money....especially not if the devices aren't WiFi 6 and you don't have a plan to replace them all very soon.

More so for the 40MB line. Unless you are streaking multiple Bluray Remuxes on you local network at the same time you aren't going to benefit.

We went from Deco M4 to X50 and in our case the difference was worth the cost. If you're planning to upgrade your fibre in future then definitely go with Wi-Fi 6, most new devices support it.

Personally I would buy this instead.

If 2 really aren't enough you can buy a third and you've still spent about the same money while getting more.

S7 is more than enough for your and most peoples’ needs. Even power users. WiFi 6 is usually completely overrated for home use.

I would just buy a single EAP tplink ceiling mount router. You can run it in mesh mode and later pull in a cable. Mount it centrally and it will cover a small house easily.

Wifi 5 doesn't have seamless handover. So you are stuck on the AP with diminishing signal until it cuts off completely, even if you are right next to a strong beacon.

Wifi 6 is the only way to go.

We are talking mesh, not APs or "beacons".

"Boosted Seamless Coverage – With advanced Deco Mesh Technology, units work together to form a unified network with a single network name. Devices automatically switch between Decos as you move through your home for the fastest possible speeds."

Just get 2 reyee rg-ew3200gx pro routers they are wifi6 and have incredible range and cheaper than the mesh systems you are looking at
