HELP - Mobile Internet Not Connecting

Annoying problem with connecting to internet on mobile. Using Nokia E51 on prepaid. Problem has been on going for past couple of months. Called and visited Vodacom and eventually they suggested a sim swap. Got a new sim yesterday and had it data enabled and still not connecting. On trying to access thru internet.gprs I get error: Web connection time-out. Vlive! says Packet data connection unavailable. Tried the sim on E220 and whilst it connects, no activity takes place. Tried other sims on the E51 and works fine. Any ideas someone?

Login at www.vodacom4me.co.za and check whether your SIM Card is provisioned for VLive, also do you have at least ZAR1.00 in airtime credit when you attempt to connect?

Also, switch to a connection setting profile for the normal internet APN, and try connecting using the internet APN.

Got numerous messages from Vodacom that my query has been escalated to Network Management Group. New smsfrom them: GPRS services has been updated and I should be able to connect. Tried again and after about 30 seconds of trying to connect I get Web connection time out on internet.gprs and No gateway reply on INTERNET APN.

At a guess, I would say it's most likely to be the connection settings on your phone, I suggest that you select an unused connection settings profile on your phone [usually there will be 1 to 4 or more, select an unused one like 3], then set the APN string to internet and the number to dial to *99***# and make sure that both the username and password fileds are left empty, then try connecting using that connection profile.
 
Internet still not connecting

Hi, seems stll no joy. I have bought a new sim card,provisioned it for data and been online with two different handsets (Nokia E51 and N70) Yet my old simcard still refuses to connect. I tried using it on my Huawei E220; it connects but no traffic at all. Very frustrating. Going to try to cancel data services and then retry applying for data to see if anything will happen. Thanks for your advice and any new ideas would be appreciated.
