Help Moving from Telkom to afrihost.

Hi, after having enough crap from telkom i would like to move my line to afrihost and get their 1mb uncapped bundle. I would just like to know how to go about it. Do i cancel our current uncapped with telkom first then signup on afrihost, does the telkom account get cancelled straight away or at the end of the month? Will we get charged double for the adsl line the first month? Or will afrihost sort eveyrthing out? Thanks

Go onto Afrihost site, select the uncapped service you want and then complete registration. You will then get a status update as to when your line is moved. Then phone Telkom once your line has been moved to cancel your ADSL cap, not your line.

Its dead easy and takes a few days - I did it last month.

They will bill you pro-ratio for your uncapped account immediately and will then bill you end of the month in advance. What was nice is that they activated my uncapped account within 1 hour (I got a thread about it) even before the debit order went off.

Why do we need to wait to cancel the telkom account if the afrihost account is active already? Is it to prevent telkom from cancelling the line as well?
