Help! MsnMessenger on DSL....

Hey compl33t, how does one change to that transport?

Hehe. You'll have to find a client that supports this. I use (and love) Psi.

In Psi, you go to "service discovery", type in jabber.obsidian.co.za and select their MSN transport. I guess you'll have to look for something similiar in your client of choice.

One irritating thing is that it imports all your MSN contacts again, but hey...at least you're connected.

Irc

Hi,

If you absolutely *have* to stay in touch, consider using IRC. Yes, it's got an older interface and, no, it doesn't have cute smiley faces, but it works. Plenty of local servers available and really excellent clients out there.

msnmessenger not working by me....Anyone else having issues?

Google seems to be dead as well...

yep
all international seems dead on my side

If you are on telkom adsl, set firewall/proxy settings on IRC/MSN to:

cache.saix.net Port 3128

Telkom's been having international troubles for weeks and cable repairs still ongoing unfortunately so our problems may persist for a while still.

Looks like telkom dns is down. Those people who can not connect, can you ping say .... 196.7.147.165

Can ping local but not int'l.

All my mail accounts in outlook have IP addresses instead of server addresses and they're not working *cry*

Oddly enough IS international still works (although a little slow) even though SAIX is down. LOL that's a first :D

interestingly skype is still working. Yay msn is back thanks for the proxy info
