Help need

I computer sometimes but now more often just restart, It is a old computer but i think it is my DVD rewiter drive model HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H44N Make LG beacuse just before it restarts the light on DVD come on and then is restart. What could be the problem?

You can always check to make sure the connectors at the back of the DVD Rom are either properly plugged in or removed all together if you think that is the culprit.

Basics of troubleshooting PC's is to remove what you think is the problem and then see what happens.

It could be malware, diskdrive or temperature.Go to the hardware manager and disable the restart function.

I do not think is malware beacuse got Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed and it pick up nothing. How do i go to the hardware manager?

solution: unplug it the computer. pick it up with all its wires and keyboard and other stuff, walk over to a swimming pool, balcony, rubbish bin. and throw.

Try it, still have the problem

use drivergenius, update the drivers. also go in device manager and disable your dvd drive just to check if it is the culprit

I had a client withj a similar issue with a SATA Sony dvdrw- I tried different SATA Cable and Port and different Power connectore -No change -now installed a IDE drive and problem solved - Still gotta try the SATA device in another PC to see if problem is travelling with the drive

Hi I think mine would be different i got a SATA Hard drive but i Got a IDE LG dvdrw

Look for, i was looking at my event log there is a warning about a disk during a paging operation
