Help needed getting adsl

Hi Guys

I want to get uncapped adsl.
Current situation:
phone line but it is not activated.
Just need adsl, no voice - do I need to activate the phone line with a closer 1 package R145etc, then on top of that activate adsl for R152 and then choose isp R300(digichilli)

Can i not just pay R152 for adsl to telkom and R300 to digichilli, do i realy need to pay for voice as well of R145?

A mate of mine says he only pays R152 + R300 isp?
Others on here are different?
 
You don't need to activate the phone line seperately, you just need to have it converted to a DSL one.
 
So if i go to telkom, ask them to activate my line for adsl, pay install charge and then start paying R152 p/m.
Then signup for digichilli?
 
1. Activate telephone line using a closer option that includes install charges - this is done to avoid you paying installation charges.
2. Wait ... wait .. wait for this to be done.
3. Ask for self-install of ADSL on that line, and at the same time, cancel the closer package and switch to normal telephone line rental - self-install is done to avoid you paying installation charges.
4. Go buy an ADSL router.
5. Wait .. wait .. wait for this to be done.
6. Verify the ADSL line to get it activated.
7. Contact the ISP of your choice for a piece of bandwidth.

So i will not have to pay R145 anymore as well, what would i pay?
 
No. You will still have to pay R131/month for the voice line, whether you use it or not - Closer is a slightly better option, since you get free calls with the package. Then you need to pay R152/month for the ADSL line and R300 to Digichilli.
 
Probably R131 which is the standard residential line rental. The closer option 1 is R145 which includes the R131.

You will have to pay for the closer package at the closer package rates for the time that the closer package was active, so cancel it as soon as the line is up.

Then you will have to pay the R131 for normal line rental instead of the Closer Price, in addition to the R152 for the 384 line.
