Hi boys and girls. I got a HiSense LCD42V87P tv via a MTN/Nokia/HiSense deal.
My setup:
42" tv
SD pvr
PS3
old Sansui sub with 2 channel and 5.1 rca connections.

The tv have the following connectors
HDMi - 3
scart - 2
avi in - 2
component - 1
optical out - 1
vga in - 1
pc sound in - 1
Headphones - 1
usb - 2
s-video - 1

I do not see an avi out at all. The pretty useless manual shows the optical to speakers, but my sub/amp do not have an optical input.

How the heck do I get sound to my surround sound?
I tried the headphones output to rca splitter connectors, but no luck.

The scart 1 connector refer to RGB IN, CVBS in/out and
scart 2 :CVBS in/out, Y/C in

Can I get scart to rca that will carry the sound from tv to surround sound?

Obviously it is easy to get sound from either the PS3 or PVR to surround sound, but I want all/any channel to go through to surround without changing any other cables or selector switches every time I select a different source?

Can anyone give me any ideas please?

Check whether the configuration of the following on the HD Cabling site will suffice: 4x1 (4 input ports) HDMI Switch with Optical Toslink, Digital Coaxial and Stereo Analog audio output Revision 2 - HDMI v1.3, HDCP v1.2.

Call Hisense

Call Percy from Hisense service department. 0861 HISENSE . . . Sharecall. Percy works in the service department and he's brilliant!

Your AV receiver should be the 'hub' and not the TV ... theoretically you should be using the TV as a monitor only.

Why don't you look at a newer receiver?

Completely agree with Dolby on this one...

Using the TV as the hub is not the smartest thing to be doing.

@RoMark. I got a LG 32" with the same problem, no bloody outputs.
I use my PS3 with HDMI to TV and the RCA to old stereo system, you can select both outputs to be used similtaneously from the PS3. Can't do anything about TV channels sound out until I get my HDPVR.
My plan is to get a receiver with Audio Return Channel but have to first see if the TV supports is, else I'd rather get another TV.
