Hi Guys I need some help.

I need(want) to buy a PS4

So I was looking through a couple of classifieds, carbonite, olx and gumtree.

So obviously there is some scammers on all these so if you dont mind to give me some pointers what to look for.

I am completely new to the ps4 community so I have no ideas what to look out for
I recently sold my Ps3 so its time for upgrade.

I need to play online so obviously the console should not be banned.

Help with following please.

1. If I buy second hand what do I need to look for at first glance?
2. How would I know if the console is banned (is it even possible already to ban the consoles)?
3. Do I need to create a local account or a UK/US account?
4. What is the pitfalls in buyimg second hand? Obviously with garuntee is preferred and if they dont have receipts stauy away.
5. Is there a specific model or are all of them the same except hdd size?

Any good or bad feedback is appreciated.

Get one from CNA and pay over 6 months no interest...2nd hand you have no fallback...

Are you going to be playing online? If so you can't get full speeds if you have a wireless connection. Most you will get is like 20kbs. I tried looking for a solution but to no avail ended up just using my xbox one online instead.

Why not just run a cable from your wifi router to your machine? :D

has a point here

you will have warranty for a while, and guaranteed to scams

SA gamer is also a good idea, you can check if the guy has iTrader points and how previous purchases/ sales went

though you still buy voetstoets

I wouldn't go for second hand if you can afford a new one. Agreed with above that a payment plan makes it very cheap (and worthwhile!!)

Doesnt FNB still offer the ps4 on payment plan?

Just my two cents, but now is not the time to buy a ps4 with all the "rumors" of ps4 neo around. Wait till e3 and see how it pans out. If there is a Neo - there most probably is- then the vanilla ps4 will probably get a price reduction anyway.
