Help needed - rain do not answer!

Hi,

I UREGENTLY need help with getting in contact with somebody from rain. Ive had enough sending emails, and they are closed do to the GOVID 19 pandemic. I have Facebook messaged them, posted on comments and even went to hello peter, where a lady by the name of Fatima promised somebody will call me. 3days later and still nothing. PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi ashbishundayal, could i ask you to PM me your email address linked to your rain account and the issue you are facing so that I can assist you ?
 
Thank you , i will communicate to you via the message but for now i do not think its a good idea to leave your email address on a public platform.

Hi, no this is not possible, the network does not allow us to FORCE a user to a specific tower - this would be a great solution for a lot of users - we have researched this and cannot find a way to make it happen!

Just wondering why mine keeps switching between towers despite me not moving it. Each tower has its pros and cons so would be good if I could select which one based on my needs.

A rain app where you can "blacklist" some towers would be ideal

You can, but only if you use a directional antenna. I have an XPOL-6 aimed at the exact tower I want to use. My router js always connected to it, and not others.

What is the cost involved? I have a bazillion towers in the area but my router insists on connecting to only one that is clearly congested (I don't believe Rain's explanation of an alarm fault).

I have 2 nearer towers but they are on higher ground than the crappy tower I am currently connected to. So I am keen to look into such an option if it will work.

Do a search for Poynting or LTE antenna on takealot. They vary in price and performance. Make sure your router accepts an external antenna.
