Hi there,

From my experience, you dont need a microfilter on a line if there is nothing connected to it. I had one extension hanging like that for months without any disconnection.

Do you see any pattern to the disconnection at all? Like at certain time. Do get connected for a substantial time before getting dropped? And what happen when you get dropped. Maybe sifting thru the modem log might help in figuring out what happen?

Also try to see if you have the latest firmware for your modem. I had problems with wifi connections on mine once and the latest firmware solved that.

Good luck

R10 says his got an ADSL Pots modem. Those modems are from the Devil I tell you.

This works for me:
After I setup my username and password in my router, I changed my LAN ip back to my personal network range.
Then I setup a new internet connection via control panel.
I can connect and disconnect at will and it seems to solve the problem with getting dropped all the time.
Don't know why it makes a difference, but if it works why not??
