Help needed with purchasing things from iTunes please

Hello.

So now I have gotten the game Dragonvale from the US App store for free. I play it every day but I am stuck and cannot get more dragons as all the cool ones you need to buy with gems. I am going to bite the bullet and buy a bag of gems. NOW, my question please. I have a cc on my SA iTunes account. When I am in the game and want to buy it, it takes me to the app store, and I sign in with my SA account details, but I cannot purchase the items. Does it matter from which account you have bought the application, or is it possible to buy the gems from a different iTunes account?
