Good day everyone, I'm in desperate need of some assistance. Been having problems with my Telkom line for a few months now. At certain hours of the day the line runs at about 3mbs, and other times becomes absolutely unusable. Called Telkom and the technician was sent out. The "genius" that was sent insisted my modem was faulty and that I should "upgrade" it. Any way at all that it is a modem error or is it definitely a line issue? Stats attached. Thanks for any assistance

Unfortunately I was out of jhb at the time, so my mom gave him access. From what I understand, he made a big deal about the splitter being in the wrong port, and the modem being faulty. To my knowledge he didn't connect any of his equipment

When I was having similar issues I changed the power supply of my modem and it my line stats picked up again

Hmm, it's quite possible your router is faulty, I've seen similar symptoms in the past.

If it's a Telkom branded unit you might be able to get your local Telkom shop to swap it out for free.

Ok so I just tested the stats on an old modem and immediately plugged my Asus back in. Stats are as follows
