Help Network Prob

Hi

Have 2 pcs conneted via ethernet to a netgear DGN2200mv2. If one pc is running noise margin on downstream on router is 9.7 the moment i put the other pc on noise drops to 3.2. This happens even if I disconnect the Lan cable??? Any ideas?

Either the PC or the PSU for the router isnt grounded... either way someone didnt wire something correctly somewhere. Are you using any dodgy/home made plugs?

No but a few extend a plugs - maybe i should try without them

must be the pc - plugged the pc box only - no monitors keyboard etc into a plug in a diff room - still the same - must be motherboard or PSU shorting.
