I've searched the threads and FAQ and didn't this problem (but I may have missed it...)
Summary:
- I have moved into a new house with self install ADSL.
- The ADSL line has been 'verified' and I can connect to guest@telkomadsl
- I cannot connect to my ISP (Imaginet).
- I took my router back to the old house and I can still connect there - so my router settings and ISP username and password are good.
- Imaginet support (very helpful) say that my acct is locked to the port where I first connected, which is good.
- Imaginet Support also say that they are not seeing any login attempts from my new adsl line - so there is a fault in the Telkom authentication somewhere.
- Telkom 0800 375 375 option 4 (faults) say that the everything is fine, and that I must contact the order desk (option 2) to 'escalate' the 'service order' because the order has not been completed...
- I have spoken to the order desk and they tell me that the 'line still needs to be opened up' and the the line has not been 'verified'.
- The 'service order' has been 'escalated' and an engineer will do something within 72hrs.
So is the line verified or not; is there a fault in the somewhere in the routers and authetication at Telkom or not; is there a fault getting the login credentials to my ISP, or at my ISP?
Anyone else had this experience and/or know what I need to do to get this working?
Thanks,
D
p.s.,
Telkom Management:
- please introduce your ADSL order and ADSL fault management teams to one another... and encourage them to give the customer consistent information. You may need to do some system development to ensure that they are seeing the same information...
- Also, please note I am a customer and I simply want my ADSL to connect to the internet. When I ring you that's all I need to ask, you will go 'certainly sir' and contact the necessary INTERNAL Telkom departments.
