OK, so I've posted this on the "quote me" section too, but I don't think many people hang out there, so here it is again so someone can tell me my build is retarded & offer advice so I can end up with something that actually works.

I don't upgrade too often so I need to get something that will last a while. I do quite a bit of graphic stuff, my son will probably game on it and the rest is just normal office work.

My shortlist looks kinda like this, but please feel free to offer advice as I'm kinda out of the loop on what works together best these days.

Asus P8 z68 V pro or deluxe
Core I5 2500K
Corsair H40/kuhler 620 - couple a times a year I have to vacuum the friggin dust out of the fins of the air cooler..that stops here!!
HD6950 2gb/GeForce GTX560ti
4gb ram
500gb HDD+120GB SSD or alternatively 1tb HDD
750w PSU - (I will run both the new HDD and the old one from my present PC)
DVD writer.
It will stand where it is dusty, so a case with filters would be nice...but doesn't need to look fancy, just work. needs USB and sound out on top at front...i.e cheapest case with these specs.

so whatcha say...what is the best combo for an early 5 figure budget & what would be the bits to go for...

You're looking at around R11k with the SSD and without a case. Also suggest you get the HD6950 over the GTX560Ti. I have however seen some GTX570's on sale lately for the same price as the HD6950 (roughly R3000), in which case, get the GTX570
Case with filters... gah, someone else will have to help you out or you can just get magnetic filters to stick onto a case
