Hi everyone!

Well I wish this wasn't the case but now I need to get my Dad's bukkie onto my name, ever since he passed away I thought I could let this slide under the rug. Now I have inherited his awesome bukkie, Ford Ranger XLT 2.5 TD 2005. I'm happy to own his life long dread, he never really managed to fix it after my uncle decided to do some jousting with it. But love the feeling of owning my very own vehicle (YES 4x4 fun!) eh... not quite...

So of course upon finding out that I have inherited the 4x4 monster, I immediately started to do a vehicle change of ownership. But hit firewall one, all vehicles need data dot, So got a data dot and got everything certified as stipulated. Applied again, firewall 2, Police clearance required... Now I'm stumped, everything on the car and on the docs checks out even the road worthy center there near Menlyn auto checked. Apparently I need police clearance before I can do change of ownership.

So now I'm stuck with a big problem, does anyone here know what the process and who, where, how its all done.
Please , any help would be awesome, oh and anyone that owns the same Ranger I need some help finding parts. Would love to get some help in restoring this really awesome 4x4 and bring back so many cool memories of fishing and learning to drive.

Thanks in advance!

Sell it, buy a Land Rover ... :p

The vehicle is fully paid off, father used to say, why create another whole in the bath tub (translated from Afrikaanse). Land Rovers are cool but I prefer this mean fighting machine, Doesn't have a computer very stock standard not a whole lot of things that could go wrong with it.

Poole clearance should be easy.. go to your local cop shop and talk to them about it.

As for parts... agents are going to be your best bet most of the time...

Ask on the 4x4 forum about the parts, you'll definitely get the help you need there.

Thx for the info gents!

Ah so a police station is where I need to go, I always thought something like this would have to be done at a vehicle policing unit of some kind. Never thought it'd really be at the cop shop. ;) Thanks again!
