Hey everyone, this might sound really idiotic.. but I just wana know, how, when and where can I change ISPs? And what are the costs involved?

I've browsed around some sites.. Finding some bits of useful info here and there, but nothing I really need.

Which ISP would be best to change to for WoW (Specifically PvP, can't make raid times),but also DotA and some other games, including CoD4:MW and TMNF. WoW being the most important, because at the moment I am running a 384kb telkom line, on a 2gb shaped account, which gives me around 700+ ping on Bloodfeather(EU).

Which ISP should I change to, and (if I can afford it) upgrade my line to?
Is it better to change to 512, with a more expensive ISP than upgrading to 4mb with a cheaper one? (I'm aiming for semi-shaped, but any advice will do :)

Help please? :o

ISP choice is up to you. Each has pro's and cons's...well MWEB has all con's. A bigger account won't help ping times. To change ISP's simply notify them (Some require written notice so you can just email that through). If you're with MWEB then you can only leave once your contract has expired...I think they the only one where you have to sign a contract. Usually no costs are involved...There shouldn't be at least. I would change to a 512K and go with WebAfrica (they've served me well so far). Prices are very good and competitive. And a 4mb line isn't much more (cost) than a 512k line.

But thats just my opinion :)

Unshaped account should reduce your ping dramatically, I'm not sure if the line speed makes a big difference in terms of ping ie 384 vs 512, but I might be wrong. Other than that spooner pretty much nailed it when changing ISP's, should be an easy process.

Good luck.

Thanks alot, I should be changing ISPs very soon... the line upgrade might only come in a few weeks though, looking forward to it.
