Hey all,

I've been with Axxess for quite some time on a lite account at R19/GB and was happy up 'til fairly recently what with the network migration etc. so have been thinking about whether there are better options out there. I've been looking around and it just gets me in a spin to be honest because people are telling me there are better options but I'm not really seeing them. I see one on Plugg's site where they're offering R18/GB but at R37 per topup. WTF. does this mean per gig after I've hit my cap on my selected package or do they charge that at a flat rate to top up? Nothing seems to jump out at me.

My line syncs at 7mbit and this I can't really live without so uncapped doesn't seem like the answer to me (10mbit packages I'm seeing are going for like R1800 a month - no thanks!) and I'm not a huge downloader. Currently I use about 20 gigs per month although this is never enough. Ideally I'd like 50-60GB. Latency for gaming is important and again, speed is important for those odd large downloads and daily streaming.

Some of the guys I game with have been telling me about these fantastic accounts they're on - 30GB daytime hours and 100GB off peak hours for R200 etc. Are these just very rare limited offers?

With regard to shaping - I'm not sure how shaped Axxess Lite accounts are but it seems fine to me. I'm just wondering whether I can get better bang for buck than I currently do @ +-R400 for 20 gigs.

Edit: my line rental is with telkom and I intend to keep it that way so as to avoid issues.

Try Openweb - R399 for 50GB
If I'm not mistaken they are on the IS backbone so you should get good speeds and latency

Wow, ajules. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Looks good!
