Is that the new Marconni modem Telkom is selling? If it is it's got a very different configuration than other modems I've seem. Have you tried www.portforward.com?

Daniedj is right.....you gotta forward ports on the router....visit portforward.com and they have guides there....i got the same router and believe me, it was quite hard.

I am playing MMORPG fine with a shaped account.
It depends on what kind of game you are playing also, but the general perception that you MUST have an unshaped account to play online games is not correct IMO

i remember trying wow,GW and quake with my telscum shapped account.
Never again ill tell you,i was sitting with lag spikes and couldnt even run into ironforge as it was a ghost town,meantime back at the ranch i thought i was running in Ironforge but infact i was disco like 20 mins ago
must admit you the only fella ive known to play a MMO with a shapped account! why dont you just get a unshapped for like R300 - R500? Just imagine how your latency will be with that.....

Playing Guild Wars on DSL384 for the last year. Latency is actually not bad. Haven't had disconnections in ages. Only time I notice there is a problem is when there are international problems, which will affect an unshaped account as well.cool what game is that??

Have never needed an unshaped account. I know of several others that also play on shaped accounts.
OF the games you mentioned I think Guild Wars is the most friendly and forgiving game when it comes to bandwidth and latency.

shapped = dont even bother with online gaming
unshapped = YEAH baby!! now we talking!!! some serious online games!!
There are lots of games servers hosted locally by saix and you can play them fine with a shapped account.
as for international games I agree with lilDeath, I have been playing guildwars since January this year and also on a shapped saix account with dsl384 and no problems there

My sister plays GW, we have an IS account, sometimes a bit of lag in the middle of the day (judging by all the moans and groans, at night she shuts up), but ok otherwise
local is lekker they say!!
maybe it twas the ISP i had in the first place,but soon as i changed to unshapped all my online gaming was better local or international i still think the unshapped is better than shapped no matter what ISP you have
