Help -- Outlook Express on Crutches

Has anyone experienced problems RECEIVING mail via Outlook Express recently. Mine is very sporadic -- mail isn't arriving on time, and sometimes it's held up for hours before it pops into my box. Sending mail is fine, but the incoming is like mortar fire -- you don't know when and where it's going to land. Anyone any ides?

Nope, mine is working fine. Maybe your anti virus software is interfering. Check your pop settings to see if the settings havent changed to "localhost" in the pop3 settings box.

Not so much with Outlook Express, but, I have had problems with the Telkom Mail server taking its time with mail.

I am using Telkom as my ADSL provider and once sent an email to myself to check the latency and was surprised to receive that email one hour later.

Seems a lot better now (after lots of complaing)

Maybe set up a mercury/32 local server to just manage the mail for you. It's free. www.pmail.com

Yes, I had the same problems with M-Web and mail delays last year. Would send e-mail to my own address and would often experience delays ranging from 10 minutes to more than an hour before receiving them.

Logged complaint after complaint and it eventually improved.

Hahah, I recived an email the other week that was sent with Webmail.co.za, it had taken over 24 hours to reach me. Feel sorry for the poor buggers using those services.
