hi. I am due for an upgrade and have no idea what to take. have been using a note 2 for just about 2 years now and I love it. would love to take the same telkom mobile deal I have but unfortunately it is no longer available. been paying R299 for 150 mins with the note 2. my budget is not too high so looking at either the huawei p8 or the galaxy A7 which both come with 100 mins and both within my budget. any advice on which is the better option or which phone I should look at. I do not want a phone with a smaller than 5" screen. the bigger the better. all help is appreciated

What is your budget?

Contact Telkom Mobile and ask them when the LG G4 will be available. The G4 is a better phone than the P8 and will at least be updated in the future.

The LG G4 will be cheaper than the S6 on contract. Huawei produce good quality handsets but after sales service is substandard i.e warranty and Huawei seldom update their phones

I would go with the A7. But if the G4 is within budget then I would take that.
The Z3 should be within budget too

Xperia or GTFO

That's all good and well, but if you are in the mid-budget range than you'll probably find that no shop has your phone in stock ("while stocks last"). The older the phone (12 months) the less likely it is that your local shop will have it.

I had to settle for the Hauwei P7 over the Xperia Z2.

I could have gone for the LG G2 (for a <R300 phone) but with my experience that would have been out of stock as well.

Xperia E4 if your old phone is still good enough and you don't need ALL the features :)
