Hey guys and girls

I just got a N80 and I cant get the wireless internet sharing to work.

Okay, heres my setup

My PC is connected to my home lan, and I have a wireless card on my pc.
I have a wireless AP.
I connect to my 56k account off my pc.

Now what i want is my 56k account to be shared to my N80 so i can access the net using my wireless lan on the phone

Any help please!

Is your dialup set as shared? Is the PC with the modem using 192.168.0.1 as the IP?

If your phone cant connect to the wlan, check the wlan encryption. If you're using WPA2, change it to WPA. I've had to set mine to WPA as well as I read about a few people having connection problems.

yay i have gotten it to work. i tried and tried, and eventually got gatvol of it. I set my access point to do a full reset, then reinstalled my wlan drivers. Connected them all up using no encription, shared the connection, and it works! problem now is the n80 wlan power is not the greatest so i gonna have to move my access point to a more centered place in my house.

On another great note, browsing off my n80 is working perfectly. I am loving this phone!

Hey hey hey. This is my first post off my n80. I can perfectly browse the myadsl website and forum off the phones web browser. Tops to nokia, this program is brilliant! I definitly recommend this phone to everyone. Best deal cellular has a great special at the moment. A nokia n80 for a total of 144 a month.

I got my N80 with my cellc upgrade as well. R144/month. Just dont forget to disconnect from the wlan when you're done. After charging the phone for 16hrs and forgetting to disconnect from the wlan, I had to recharge the next day as the battery was on 1 bar and dying.

I take it you're reapplied the encryption?

turn off standby mode in the phone settings

Edit: This should be Sleep Mode

Correction to my previous post.

Turn off Sleep Mode: Tools->Settings->Phone->Display->Sleep mode
