See if you can plug it into an working pc, use a partition program, create another partition on the disk, and clean install windows on the new partition.

you again! did you blow another one up?

from what i remember when you start up and run of the os disk the partition option should come up.

didnt you have a new HDD? why dont you instal windows on the new one and use this as a second HDD?

its what i did

yeah think i might do that but how ??? the new hard drive has windows on it already but when i start it up it justs restarts itself ...im must be doing something wrong just can figure out what....i'll format the new drive and install it as primary then i'll put in the windows cd and boot from there...please let me know if this will work

A disk that was configured for another machine will work shakely at best if you stick it into your machine. If you really want the games / movies etc on the new hdd stick it into a buddies pc and copy the stuff. Then format the disk when you install windows.

hey HDD assassin, do you have a graphics card in? thats what caused mine to restarted when i put in the 2nd HDD, so i had to remove it. dont ask my why, but it worked

yeah i do ....came with the pc .....nvidia 4 4400 or something....ok but if i take it out, will it ask me for any info when i eventually re-install it ??? i have the disk that came with it but have no idea how to go about installing it ...but will try that as well...thanks for the help...oh and i only blew 1 hdd so im still an apprentice hdd assassin :)
