For 20k I would say get a bigger power supply and then go nuts.
Im sure the gamers here will weigh in shortly but R20 000 is alot of dosh-

I would imagine you should be able to afford SLI or Crossfire and even maybe an SSD to speed things up a bit. Also the i7 (LGA 1366) have tri channel RAM so throw in another stick :)

was thinkin of another stick , but currently only got 32bit windows 7. so atm there aint a point. as far as i know windows 7 still will only recognise 3gigs of it :(

ill probably double up on the graphics cards , they decent though ? and the mother board and CPU ? , really not that smart with components etc. more into games :P

Nakedhousee on Dragonblight , play wow.
Defi on Perento , play Aion.

bit of guidance if u guys can :)

ordering tomorrow.

Swap gpu for a 5870 and PSU to a Corsair HX750w and with the rest of the money...well...get a cool case and maybe watercooling. I'd also add that other stick of RAM and get a 64bit OS later on when windows 7 is officially released

First the choice of processor is excellent. Gigabyte make good boards but if you can take a look at ASUS boards too, it would not hurt. Regarding RAM +1 for tri-Channel, I would recommend going for 3X 2GB 1600MHZ Corsair if possible. GFX wise go for the ATi 5870 for now they offer the best performance and are relatively future proof. 750W PSU is a good idea since it will give you enough room for OC'ng as well as a possible Xfire setup. Get a nice looking case for about a grand.. Cosmos and HAF come to mind. If you do have some cash left I suggest you get yourself an SSD for the OS and 2 to 3 monitors for an EYE finity setup..... GL bro seems like the Upgrade bug is on the loose... I'm just envious of all you guys out there....

get a board that supports crossfire, so u can always add another card in the future if ur feeling hardcore :D

Definitely would also suggest looking at 64bit when it comes out, with all that processing power more RAM will really make a difference.

5870 is brandspanking new, supports DX11 so much better than the 4890. Where are you buying it from?

Esquire and PcInt are very very hard to beat in terms of pricing. If you do it frugally you can build a behemoth with that cash

http://www.pcint.co.za/components.php

Asus P6T-SE R 2,199 excl. R 2,506 incl.
Core i7 2,6 R 2,440 excl. R 2,781 incl.
2GB DDRIII-1800 R 599 excl. R 682 incl. x3 = R2046
HD4890* R 1,999 excl. R 2,278 incl. *HD5870 not available yet from them
750W CM PSU R 1,399 excl. R 1,594 incl.

R11 205

Thats already with upgraded RAM and PSU, you never mentioned a harddrive in original post? 1TB Seagate R751 (incl) and an SSD for the new 64bit OS will be a few clips but then you have the best of the best (or close enough).

Add a couple of 24" LCDs as well. Have a look at the Lian-Li chassis as well. They have some good ones especially in terms of drive management, etc. A bit pricey, but should fit in your 20K budget.

Will firstly only go bigger than 650 if you plan to xfire.

Secondly make sure you get a Samsung 2433bw. Even if it means getting a 5850 instead of a 5870.

As for mouse get the logitech G5.
