Help pls = unknown mobo.

is it running an OS? windows? get Cpuinfo.exe it will show you the board manufacturer detgails

oh wait u said not going past POST? hmmmm

replace all cables, remove anything you dont need, check that gfx card has full power it needs, check cpu is seated properly.

i've had a no post problem before a few times, mine were;

1. faulty hdd plugged into the IDE bus (not sure if SATA would suffer from this)
2. CPU not seated correctly.
3. 4-pin square Power connector was the right plug, but not the "ATX" one. (pays to read before plugging)
4. Graphics card drawing too much power (machine would come on but not post)
5. dead mobo. took it back for replacement.

Do what rurapente suggests.

I doubt a manual will help you much, sure the cpu and ram are ok still?
See what it does without them in.

while googling your model, and not finding anything, i did find one guy saying it wouldnt boot, and then discovered the CMOS clear jumber was still set to CLEAR.

Mobo is not in a case, i've plugged in the PSU & screen (onboard graphics) then started it manually. Memory & 3.0 gig cpu came from a working PC.

Thx, that is why i want to get hold of a Manual cos i don't see a cmos reset jumper. :o

Pull the battery to reset the cmos, I think Matrix Warehouse brought those boards in, maybe check with them, I've also hunted for in the past PCPartner, very noisey.

Seeing as it's via chipset I'd lean more towards the board's blown.

Thx drake, the only jumper i saw was a jbat and i didn't know that it is the clear cmos. I saw that after googling it now, my previous mobo's jumpers were all marked "clear cmos". I'll take out the batt now and clear cmos and see what happens, and let you guys know.
THX to all for your help.

was it working when you got it from your friend?

No, that's why he took it out. I was just trying to see if i can spot a problem, but after clearing the cmos 10min ago with no batt, it's still dead.

I'll rest my case now, no cure for this board.
Thx again to all.
