Hi there guys and gals

Here is a quick question:
If you have 2 non(or 1SLI and one non SLI) SLI graphics cards running on a sli motherboard will the run any better than having one?

My current pc setup:
AMD 64 939 3000+
786 Mb Transcend Ram
MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum, nforce4 SLI, 8CH Audio, Gb LAN, 1394......
MSI NX6600GT-TD128E 128Bit 16X PCI-Express (DVI, TV-out, SLi)
450watt Aopen PowerSupply
hdd,fdd,dvdwriter.....

I have another graphics card MSI NX6600-VTD128E Diamond 128Bit 16X PCI-Express (DVI, ViVo) lying here by me. How would I proceed.... I suppose I could just test it.

run better as in faster? nope
run better as in 2 monitors gives better kewlness factor? yip

Try trade in the 6600 for an sli one of the same type :)

In your case, your mobo and gfx is SLI enabled. That's the way it'll stay until you slot another identical SLI gfx card in there and switch to SLI mode. However, if you plan on running 2 monitors WHILE IN SLI, forget it. Driver does not support it.

hmmm im running the olddest drivers 66.93 that support 6600GT series. All the newwer drivers make my movies play bigger than the tv size when in full screen.(very anoyying when watching anything with sub titles)

Mmmm, not good to be running old drivers. If you haven't had any problems already you will probably have when some newer games are released. Have you tried the nVidia Omega Drivers:

www.omegadrivers.net

It's a longshot, but try the drivers and see if they help your situation. Have you tried just putting your resolution down to like 800x600 or 640x480 while using it on TV?

depends which game you are playing....

there are games that are greatly benefit from SLI setup and others...that there is no difference at all...

have a look around the new...in order to see a few benchmarks of your game...and see if it will give you more fps or not...

also...on a SLI rig...you might be struggling a bit with the 450w PSU...but it's all trial and error...:)

Running SLI 6600GTs on Antec 400W. Other hardware normal stuff. 6800GT might push the envelope a bit.

nVidia suggests the following :

High-End: GeForce 6800 Ultra
500-550W, +12V @ 30A

Mid-Range: GeForce 6800 GT or 6800
420-480W, +12V @ 25A

Entry-Level: GeForce 6600 GT
350-420W, +12V @ 20A

High-End NVIDIA SLI Configuration:
Dual GeForce 6800 Ultra Graphics cards
Athlon 64 939-pin CPU or Intel Xeon
Two or more HDD, including RAID 0,1, 0+1 or 5 configurations
Two optical drives
PCI sound card

Mid-Range NVIDIA SLI Configuration:
Dual GeForce 6800 or GeForce 6800 GT Graphics cards
Athlon 64 939-pin CPU
Single HDD
Two optical drives
PCI sound card

Entry-Level NVIDIA SLI configuration:
Dual GeForce 6600 GT Graphics cards
Athlon 64 939-pin CPU
Single HDD
One optical drive
