Got a Netgear DG834 and using the Cisco VPN client 4.05 on XP SP2 using IPSec/UDP.

Opened up UDP ports 500 and 4500 on the Netgear and XP firewall.

I get a "DEL_REASON_PEER_NOT_RESPONDING" from the VPN client.

The network dept gave me Group Authentication so there is no certficates and all that stuff required.

I am the first one using VPN so myself and the network techie are both learning.

I can see the concentrator on the net ... a Cisco 3000 afaik.

Any ideas folks ???.

I have learned that when you connect to the VPN, after authentication it actually connects back to you, so you need to make sure that you have a rule allowing port 500 (UPD) incomming from your VPN server to your machine. I am not sure if this is your problem though, cause your error massage sounds like a remote problem.
