Help telkom throtle after 200gb

Hi all
So after being with telkom for more than 4 years i think on this 4mb uncapped package, today they throttle me after only 200gb. Nobody in the call centre can tell me why, they say the threshold is 900gb. Is there anything I can do?
please help
 
Sounds about right if all your usage is outside of the night surfer slot. Where the morons in the call centre got 900GB from is beyond me.
 
But i average about 400gb every month since the beginning. Im paying for a 10mb line and data, but exchange only supports 4mb

That makes sense if you're paying for 10MB Uncapped, I assumed you were on 4MB Uncapped.

Check your latest invoice to see if your data account is correct, line item should be "Home uncap prem+" @ R503.51excl for 10MB Uncapped.
 
Telkom blames strike for spike in acts of sabotage

he utility said on Sunday.

"These are not random acts of vandalism or incidents of cable theft. These people know where to go and what to do to wreak maximum damage. This is in-house‚" said Telkom spokesperson Jacqui O’Sullivan.

Telkom and the CWU were due to hold talks on Monday in a bid to end a four-week strike.

"A total of 85 street distribution cabinets (SDCs) have been damaged in the past five days‚" said O’Sullivan.

An SDC is a "control point where the main cable from the exchange and the distribution cables from several distribution points are terminated".

"Many of these SDCs have either been fully repaired or are partially repaired. In areas where the work is still under way‚ the technicians are bringing streets back online as they complete the repairs. Our teams will continue to work around the clock until the service to all the affected customers is restored."

O’Sullivan said although fewer than "870 CWU members were on strike on Friday this thuggish behaviour has now had a significant impact on many residential and business customers"

Last Wednesday had no adsl, slow on Thursday and work well from Friday. Telkom might not be throttling you.

This is just BS, 1st time that i have a problem like this with telkom. Call centre told me now to look at another ISP cause there is nothing they can do. We mostly play online games and youtube. They wont even move me to a business package and no lte available here by me (been on a waiting list since launch). Yes i am paying for the 10mb line (got upgraded years back with the upgrades) and on uncapped adv package.
So thoughts? Move away from telkom now?
Wasnt there a telkom rep on here?
 
Uncapped advanced is the TI 4MB uncapped data plan and +/- 200GB before softcap is par for the course.

Check your average monthly usages here https://userstats.adsl.saix.net/ and look into getting a suitably sized capped account from Afrihost/axxess/Crystalweb etc.

Business at Telkom must be boooooming if they tell you to look elsewhere.

Business at Telkom must be boooooming if they tell you to look elsewhere.

Telkom won't move you onto a business package unless you are a registered business and supply them with all the relevant documentation.

I think you read that wrong.

That is another stupid comment from a idiot in a call centre. I was addressing the next sentence.

I realise what you were addressing, it's just you replied to Ambrose who wasn't talking about that. Anyway, as you were.
