Well, after some heavy storms since Friday..my ADSL line has now been down
since Saturday..the joys of working with TELKOM support I wont even describe to you and DON'T think they will even call you back when they say they will...and now this morning you don't even get through to support, and the one time I did, when I went to the department where you can check your fault after 3 minutes of the phone simply ringing..it went dead on me...and since then - nothing! ARGHHHHHHHHHH...are we EVER going to get a second or heavens beware a third operator? This is really pathetic, not even speaking about their new pricing!!! Gees, we really are in the dark ages with our telecoms..anyway, ANYONE, where can I get a POTS filter, except
Telkom? They simply do not have stock and I am looking for one...

Well,

What can I say..to hear the answer "sorry no technician has been dispatched to attend to your fault yet" another time is gong to make me crazy! I have now been offline officialy 5 days:( :( When will I be online again? I do not know!!!! Apperently you can ask Telkom to credit your account with the time
you were offline if you are offline longer than 24 hours. The way I feel now?
Suck ADSL, suck Telkom, back to Dail -up? because it just might be quicker to downgrade to get a technician to attend to my fault! ME - NOT a very happy customer and there is JUST NO competition to turn to. SUCK, SUCK, SUCK

Also waiting here. Been only a couple of hours though. They did promise to call me after testing the line. Nada so far...
 
Well,

Keep on them with regard to the fault because if you don't they will just as soon as forget about you...so convenient!

For those of you that are interested:

YES!!!!!!!!!!! I am still down(or my line is). According to Telkom they are on the faults at the 31 October.My fault occured on the 5 November. Any guess when they will get to mine? MAYBE next week....According to someone I spoke to...the techies are not there doing their jobs and partying and just not at thier desks. At this stage : I WILL PAY someone to get my line fixed! People - I am going to Carte Blanche with this. It is really pathetic!

I have a slightly different story to tell. My ADSL was also knocked out over the weekend (Centurion = Thunderstorm magnet). Only found out monday evening. Called telkom ADSL support. This very frienldy guy logged the fault but there was some problem and he said he would call me back. I thought "yeah sure". I was quite surprised when he phoned me (on my cellphone nogal) 30 minutes later and assured me the fault would be attended to. I was even more suprised the following evening when I switched on my modem and the line as fixed.

This support guy was so friendly I felt quite ashamed about all the telkom bashing I dished out in the past. The point I'm trying to make is that Telkom is not all bad, just most of it !

And calling the call centre anytime before 10 pm is a no-no unless you want to end up looney.
