I've got a 4 port marconi adsl router. It's suffering from corrupt downloads.
Every executable file i download is corrupt, I've run Antivirus and spyware scanners and everything is clean, the pc has Xp Pro installed and I haven't even had it for a full month now, it's brand new. I installed xp myself not even two weeks ago. If anyone could help me sort this problem out, please help, I have to re-download PDF and DOC files aswell as the first download is corrupt, yours sincerely, Sudt

So how do you notice the corruption ???.
Does XP refuse to load the programs you have downloaded ???.

Eg.

Say I download winamp or any program like bitcomet, I can't run it because the installer is corrupt, download managers don't work as I've tried more than 5 already including getright, it's not the downloading, but the way it's downloading, it's corrupting all the files either through the line or router, more sugggestions and help please.

A modem/router or line cannot corrupt downloads due to the nature of the TCP/IP protocol with all the error checking.

So either your PC is infected or your harddrive or controller is acting up.

Is your PC overclocked ???.

Are you running SP2 ???.

Many things are far more likely than the modem / line. As has been said

Make sure the download is fully completed. download something from sourceforge - & check that the size they give you in bits - is the same size as is listed for the file on your machine.

It could also be HDD / HDD Controler / Viruses have already been mentioned. Also could be RAM - processor overheating or many other things. Modem is last place I would look. Try another machine on the router.

I am having very similar problems, but only on very big downloads.
Follow this link.
So far the problem has not been resolved.

Problem fixed

It was the Nforce Built in LAN, just download the latest Nforce drivers, if you're experiencing the same problem. If you don't run nforce, get the latest lan drivers
