Hallo everybody,

sorry to start my "experience" on this forum with a thred, so before that I'd like to introduce myself. My name's Marco and I'm from Spain - Barcelona.

I really need your help as my best friend (who is living in Durban) has a prepaid contract with Vodacom. I'd like to recharge his airtime through internet with my credit card but seems to be like an impossible mission.
Obviously being in Spain I don't have any southafrican bank account, so I was trying to recharge his credit using a website and my credit card.

I've been browsing three days without finding anything possible. I really hope someone here can help!
If not, no problem, and thank you anyway for your attention!

Hasta pronto

Marco

Hallo Ocleroux,

and thank you for your answer.
I looked already at the thread but it doesn' work as I don't have any bank account in SA.

I was actually tring to find a normal website where I can buy some airtime with my credit card without any other info as I don't live there.

Thank you very much for your help. If you have some other info please let me know!

Best Regards
Marco

My appologies Marco. I did not actually go into those sites as I just use my internet banking when I need to buy prepaid airtime. Perhaps anyone else knows of a way to do it with a international credit card?

Hallo everybody....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... Ned your help if possible...

Many thanx

Looking, but haven't found a solution.

This type of thing seems to be a common problem - I have a Vodafone UK pre-paid sim card, and I cannot recharge it with a non-UK credit card, same problem !

Why not deposit some cash into her account then the person will buy for himself? You can send/withdraw money on paypal to most south african banks.

Money transfer is expensive and takes long if it's and international transaction. AFAIK you cannot withdraw paypal money into an SA account.

"Payment for the vouchers can be made by either cash deposit or EFT into our account."

That sort of disqualifies them for use from overseas. International Interbank Transfers are too expensive, and only really work for large payments.

I was under the impression they took Credit Cards as well, my bad :o

Thank you everybody for your help.

I keep looking around. i've as well written to vodacom but they can't help me too....seems to be a mission! Seems like they have to make a special favour to make me spend my money.. :-)

omw... why would someone from spain buy airtime for another person in South-Africa??? this sounds way to suspicious...

I wonder, did you ever find a way to do this? I'm looking to do the same thing, although not from Spain but from Germany.
