Help to set up ShowMax

I would appreciate some help and guidance on how to get Showmax to play on my non smart TV. I have tried asking customer support, but only got meaningless replies and have given up on them.

Presently I have a Windows 10 Desktop PC that streams extremely well to to a Samsung LED TV using an ADSL router and an EZCast dongle.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

I also can't get it to run on my Android Media Players.
Contacting them, they give meaningless replies back.
"We support Android phones & tablets running Android 4.1.0 or higher. Unfortunately, due to manufacturer differences, the application may not work on all devices."
I wanted to support a local company but if they don't care, I'd rather spend my money on other services that work.

I am also very disappointed. Expected much more after reading all the announcements in the media to date. As far as I can see only people with specific supported smart TV's will really be able to use their service. That is most likely a very small market in the RSA at this moment in time. Its quite sad that they have no "user manual" for their service on existing hardware or proposed hardware. I expect most potential users are not technical or computer gurus and will thus shun the service, just because they do not know how to get connected.
Its quite sad actually to see this.

Its just a typical rushed to market product.
If they really wanted it to succeed then it would work on the major set top boxes(Android, Roku and ATV)
Having to use a pc to watch something is a joke.

Works on my mx3 android player

This fixed it. I was getting sound and no pic.


4.1. You have to edit the build.prop file(Location: /system/build.prop):
media.amplayer.widevineenable=false

to...

media.amplayer.widevineenable=true

Then reboot
