Hi guys,

WHen i shut down my pc. The CPU fan and my top case fan remain spinning until i physically turn the power off on the PSU.

When i turn the PSU off though, a sort of buzzing sound can be heard.. very feint though, and only goes away when i turn it back on.

Should i be concerned?

The specs below are what im currently using with the addition of another 2 1tb drives, a 120gb drive and a dvd writer.

sounds like its defective. prolly not a good idea to use it for too long, get it replaced asap. if its under warranty make the bastards who sold it to you pay!

I'd start by checking that all the power connections are properly in place?
Is there maybe some setting in your bios that lets fans run for a while then shuts down?
Do the fans keep spinning indefinitely (>5min)?
And last question :) have you "Googled" the problem :)

I agree check the bios settings - a faulty psu may lead to other problems.

I'll check the power connectors now.
As for the fans yes it is indefinite.
Finally I did google the problem but I'm finding a whole range of possible reasons... some pointing to a faulty PSU, or a faulty CPU fan and then finally reasons pointing to the system being too hot after shutdown so the fans remain on.

My money's on the PSU, but need to determine if it's the PSU in your case. I can bring/drop off a test rig (chassis + mobo + CPU + RAM + HDD) and we/you can remove PSU from current rig and install it in the test rig to see if it shows similar problems.
