Hi everyone,

I had my Samsung UA40D6600 installed yesterday and tried the web browser...

Everytime I press to go into it it just hangs the whole TV saying connecting. It's not the modem as everything else connects perfectly and downloads etc via the TV...

Please please Help

We had the same problem with the same TV. Samsung replaced it with a new 1 because the techie said the motherboard is faulty and thats why it's doing that and they had no replacement motherboards. The web browser works fine on the replacement unit :)

Thanks so much - did they come out to your place to fix. I phoned today and they said I should let it run "connecting" overnight and see if it helps, otherwise call them tomorrow - exactly what I intend to do.

Please let me know if they came to your place?

Had the same problem with Web Browser on 6600 hanging on "Connecting". They had to replace the board. They came to fetch the TV and two days later they delivered the TV back.

Thanks - seems to be a common problem :(
Are your guys tv's working well now?

Sounds like good service from Samsung.

Could you guys list which repair agents serviced you?

Would rather live without a browser on my TV than hand it over to some techs. Imagine it comes back with a fat scratch in the middle!

My TV works like a charm. I think SA is flooded with early models because the one they replaced us with came with a backlit *model. They have to handle your TV with care because SAMSUNG did a courtesy call a week after to find out about service and how good the agent was. The agent was TM Electronics.

EDIT: *remote

This does not make sense. Replaced with a back-lit model?

The only type that isn't backlit is plasma, which is why it's awesome.

All D6000 LCD range are LED backlit (edge lit).

Just in case I misinterpreted, you aren't saying your first one was edge lit, and the replacement back lit, right?

Could be plausible, the 2012 direct replacement for the D6000 is the EH6000, which is backlit LED.

Interesting, so the models in question could have been replaced with those akin to the US versions? Remember you showed me.

:o:o:o:oOOOOPS!!! I made huge typo. I was replaced with the same model but it came with a backlit remote:o:o:o

No I would expect the Asian versions (UA) we normally get e.g. http://www.dionwired.co.za/audio-visual/tv-dvd-satellite/televisions-1/samsung-26-inch-led-tv.html.

Havent seen bigger models around yet, maybe Samsung SA is waiting a bit for the D series stock to deplete before introducing the full EH 5 & 6 series range locally?

Apparentyly thats exactly what they are doing - waiting to sell out - Dion offered to refund me for the D6600 (40") R8000 but when I said to them - but what can I get for that money that has the functionality of the D6600 they laughed and said nothing close...

I have asked for them to rather log a warranty call for the TV - Samsung must sort out the mess :)
