Help us! Looking for car 27k to spend! :)

Hello fellow forum members, today I come to you with a wish, nay call it a dream if you will. This dream revolves around getting my girlfriend her first car. Yes she is a student, yes we have no more that 27k to spend. What would be our best options? I have seen some Ford Fiestas, Unos and the ever popular Golfs at this price point. It needs to be a small car, makes it easier to get the full license after her now getting the learners. Perhaps one of you have a little something you want to sell? This is why I came posting here, because I have learned that there are many trustworthy and helpful people around so please throw us in the right direction and give us some suggestions, reliability would be a big one too! The only limiting factor is the financial one, we cannot afford anymore than 27k and can make no loans or get into any form of debt. Help us!!!
 
Wow theres a '92 Hondat Luxline there for 20k. Id get that, then spend the extra 7k on fixing it up for her: service and fix whats wrong, anti smash and grab, sound.

Hehe. I am in the same position. GF just started working and I am getting her a car too. Also got just under 30 to spend as I dont want to finance another car. My advice is to keep looking around and dont rush it if you can help it. I found a peugeot 306 wagon in very very good condition with 150 odd thousand kilo's on at a client of ours. I'm hoping he will "do me a favour" and sell it to me in that bracket. They usually go fo around 48-50 so it will be a good purchase to make. His daughter went overseas and left her car there and now it just gathers dust.

So keep looking, if you dont rush into the first thing you see you'll most likely find the right car for her.
