depends on how long a password we are talking about.
Be Prepared for a long brute-force attack, as RAR can only be cracked with brute force.
Zip files can be cracked within a few minutes, maybe hours if very long.
From my experience, my guesses are:
1-4 characters: Crackable within a day or two
5-7 characters: Crackable within a week or two
8-10 characters: 2-3 Months?
11 or more: Not worth it.
If the RAR was full of JPEGs, it would be quicker to draw them yourself.
Decide wether the contents are worth it.
Just google RAR password recovery, im sure you'lle find some utils.
I think the "ArcSoft" Products are pretty good.
