Hi guys,

I got a 500W PSU for my gals PC. We bought a 8800 GT from MSI (the OC edt.)

When I install it there's no display (but the On board works fine.) If I install my 8800 GTX it works as well. Is this because the 8800GT is PCI-E V2???

Her mobo is a Foxconn K8M890. I did a bios update and didn't work. Can anyone give me some info on this.

Thanks:(

Is this because the 8800GT is PCI-E V2???

I wouldn't think so.

I'm guessing you've tried the card in another machine?
Have you tried disabling the on-board video in the bios?
Also, there might be a video 'priority' toggle in the bios, to toggle between, PCI-E, PCI, on-board, etc

The mobo sucks a bit but it was cheaper a while ago, lol...

If I install the GT in my GA board it works just fine. My GTX works in her pc. My GTX works in my pc, lol.. The GTX is PCI-E v1. The GT is v2 (but it says that it's PCI-E v1 comp)

I did disable the display in the bios. All it does is NOTHING, lol... It does detect the PCI-E card (my gtx) when it is installed. The GT isn't detected. The pc boots but with no display. If you change to O/B then you get the display. Even the fan of the GT is also blowing flippen heavy and doesn't stop (not the case in my pc. It blows for a few secs and then runs normal.)

Jip and it's the same mobo... lol

Thanks for that link man

Any1 who can suggest that I should do it? Or rather get a new mobo for around R500 that supports PCI-E v2???

I am also a bit chicken, lol....
